Some time back, Microsoft did wonders with its operating system and brought out a very renewed, and completely stunning version which took the entire world by surprise. Of course, not many people know or care to know the underlying changes -- which were total -- that made the entire system look so stunning. After a long time now, it has done the same with its mobile platform.
With the release of the Windows Phone 7 Series, it heralds a new dimension into the world of mobile operating systems. The entire stuff is not yet officially released, but the previews that have come out officially show a huge set of features which are much more than what one could ask for.
The new operating system has not been written from existing code. If anything, it has been written right from scratch and that calls for a huge change. The platform seems to be more focused touch-based smart phones, possibly taking a dig at it's long-time competitors. The entire platform is designed totally in a different manner, introducing the concept of hubs instead of menus or the usual fare that is available on most other platforms.
The hub is like a middle level where you do not have to actually begin from the basic. It is touted that Zune users might find this easier to adapt to. All the usual recipes are incorporated, namely the SMS features, browser (IE instead of a Windows Mobile browser), email, calendar and even lots of Office features that seem really amazing.
If not for anything else, Windows is known for its strategic come-back. What Windows did with Vista and the recent 7, it has done the same with it's mobile version of Windows Phone 7 series. With loads of features and more, this sure becomes the best of the mobile operating systems yet.
