With their upcoming November launch of the much anticipated windows phone 7, it appears Microsoft are not just planning to deliver a gift but are also making sure that even the packaging that it will come in is just right. On a recent ad that has been the subject of much discussion on the nets tech blogs and such like things, Microsoft have revealed their brand new phone 7 on the brand new Samsung Focus and the AT&T carrier logo at the bottom left corner was also hard to miss. That is not all; there is also an allusion on Microsoft's page to a brand new windows phone website. While some may understand the implications of all this others have little idea exactly what parameters are in play in preparation for windows scheduled launch of their phone 7 some time in November.
The Windows Phone 7
Having been under development since 2008 when the windows mobile 7 project was officially scrapped, this is expect to be the successor of windows mobile that has in the face of the iPhone all but gone extinct. This is expected to Microsoft new prize puncher in the ring of mobile communication and it is expected by many to be the first player to be able to throw a few painful punches in the direction of the iPod. Compared to its predecessor, the phone 7 has been described as more user friendly and with just the right number of applications and functionality unlike the windows mobile that was described as being grossly over loaded, which in the end crippled its own functionality.
The Samsung Focus (Cetus)
This is yet another that had been the subject of much speculation on the net and up until the time the ad by Microsoft had been put up, it had been going under the speculative name Samsung Cetus. This was definitely one of the biggest surprises to come with the phone 7 as nobody had quite expected what seems to be a deadly combination of players on the same side. Unfortunately, nothing more is revealed about this device on the ad or anywhere else on the web and its pricing is also unknown. This has left most enthusiasts do simply do what they do best and that is to once again speculate until such a time that the phone is actually released.
Carriers (AT&T)
As far as carriers and the windows phone 7 go, there hasn't been any need to speculate. The revelation that at&t will also be speaking at the New York press conference in which Microsoft is expected to tell all (or at least most) on their phone 7 seemed to be statement enough and the ad did its part to confirm all this. What hasn't been revealed is that T-mobile might also be one of the few carriers expected to carry on the windows phone 7. Sprint and Verizon users may have to wait awhile as the CDMA based carriers aren't supported on the phone 7.
