Both of these phones are very similar to each other, having been released at about the same time, and both being flagship products at the very upper high end produced by HTC. While the HTC Touch Diamond was designed with a more general audience in mind, the HTC Touch Pro was made to be focused on the thriving business community that demand more from their phones and require many additional features that will help in their day to day activities. Thus, all things considered, it does make sense that the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro have as many similarities as they do differences, figuratively speaking.
Similarities of the HTC Phones
In terms of user interface, both of these phones utilise the TouchFlo 3D of HTC. As one of the biggest selling points of both the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro, this powerful yet astonishingly easy to use interface provides new and exciting levels of flexibility for almost all of the functions of the mobile phones.
Additionally, both the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro sport the same 3.2 megapixel camera, complete with autofocus. While other models may trump it with the 5.0 megapixel versions that are out there currently, for these two phones the 3.2 suffices and produces fairly decent image quality.
Another of the major selling points is duplicated on both phones in the form of the GPS capabilities. Having navigational assistance in the palm of ones hand as a mobile phone not only is convenient, but also helps immensely.
Lastly, both the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro also support HSDPA and Wi-Fi, both of which allow for blazing speeds when downloading or surfing the internet. After all these similarities, it is shocking that there may actually be some things that are different, but there certainly are.

Differences between the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro
Anyone that even looks at these two phones should instantly spot the difference, as it is probably the most obvious thing about the phones. Mainly it is in the size and weight, as the HTC Touch Diamond is a whole 0.26 inches slimmer, and 1.95 oz lighter. The 'why' as to this remarkable size and weight difference is, coincidently, the second major difference between the phones.
Being geared towards business needs as it is, the HTC Touch Pro comes complete with its very own QWERTY keyboard. Definitely a huge advantage for any phone, it is fairly unobtrusive and makes texting or answering emails a really simple thing to do, even when rushing or on the go.
Further differences include the fact that the HTC Touch Diamond has 4GB internal memory whereas the HTC Touch Pro only has 512 MB, but only the latter has an expandable slot for up to 16 GB of memory.
All in all, both phones are very similar, with the only differences, really, being the keyboard, size and weight, as well as storage. Seeing as the first two are interconnected, and a matter of preference, as is the last one, it all boils down to the specific needs any given person has for his or her mobile phone.
