nokia asha 200

Another line up under the Nokia Asha group of mobile phones is available in the market and it just couldn't get any better, if we are talking about budget phones. No wonder Nokia was on top of its game in 2011. The Finnish mobile phone manufacturer was not as noisy as the other smartphone creators but the phone giant from Finland was continuously creating cell phones under the feature phone category last year. It is also not a surprise that a lot of its fans from South East Asia, where the bulk of the sales profit came from in 2011, still love every bit of feature phone that it comes out in the market.

The Nokia Asha 200 still have its typical Asha look with the QWERTY keyboard present. It supports dual SIM so for those that maintain two mobile numbers or for those that uses two different mobile numbers from two different mobile networks, this is the ideal phone to have. It is no longer practical to have two mobile phones just to be able to maintain those two SIM cards or two mobile numbers.
The Asha 200 seems to be gearing towards the female market because of the availability of the phone in different colors, especially the pink version. The available colors are eight and this is a huge paintjob that Nokia shall be doing to the Asha 200. This alone tells us that Nokia is expecting huge orders on a global scale. The other available colors are green, aqua, light pink, blue, orange, graphite, pearl white aside from the hot pink already mentioned.
It is also worthy to take note of that Nokia Asha 200 is a two phone-in-one product. This is not because of the dual SIM functionality of the unit. Asha 200 is a product of several recent handsets molded into one. Remember the X2-01? It has the S40 interface as well as the QWERTY keyboard design. The other phone is the X1-01 which provides the dual SIM functionality. In terms of voice or sound quality, it is rated very well.
Here are the other key features to better understand what to expect from this wonderful feature phone from Nokia:
· Dual-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support
· 2.4-inch; 256K color QVGA TFT display
· 2MP camera
· Series 40 UI
· Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR
· 3.5mm audio jack
· Standard microUSB port
· Stereo FM radio with RDS; recording
· Hot-swappable microSD card slot (32GB supported)
Disadvantages:
· No 3G
· No multi-tasking
· No Wi-Fi
· No USB charging
· No smart dial
It is worthy to take note that 3G and Wi-Fi are available in other Asha products. The other Asha units are also touchscreen. The primary focus of this unit goes to the basics of a cell phone, providing QWERTY keypad to the end-user and a dual SIM functionality.
Physically, the Nokia Asha 200 is quite chubby. Fortunately, the curved back of the phone does give you a comfortable feel of the unit in your hand. It is entirely made up of plastic and it weighs 105g. The left side of the phone is bare while the right side contains a lot of things that you will find useful. The microSD slot is on the right side and the secondary SIM compartment is also on that part as well. The good thing about this is that both slots are hot swappable. Replacing the cards anytime that you want without restarting or turning off/on your phone saves you a lot of time as well.
It is a great basic phone if this is what you are looking for. Nokia has been known for the durability and the functionalities of the phone that it offers. If you love the different colors available or if you want to go back in time a little bit, Nokia Asha 200 will work best for you.
