Shopping Offline is Time-Consuming

Choosing to shop offline is a decision you can't make without a substantial amount of planning. You have to schedule time to drive around, find the store, search the isles, sometimes finding that they don't even have the model you're looking for (as is likely to be the case with this popular unlocked phone). And if you want to comparison shop you've just tacked on another hour to your trip minimum.

When you shop online you get what you want, when you want, and at a price you want.

How to Get a Great Deal When You Buy Nexus One Google Phone

When looking where to buy Nexus One Google Phone, keep your mind open for how to search. The internet has just about everything you could want, but many people don't get the quality of information they want due to poor search queries.

Head over to your favorite search engine and type in Nexus One Google Phone followed by any of the following search modifiers: "free shipping," discount, rebate, coupon, special, sale, deal, used, refurbished, compare, or comparison.

Many are standard modifiers, and some you may already use. The comparative keywords will do the most to cut down your workload and save time. Used and refurbished aren't as popular because some people have had bad experiences with them, but they're great ways to get lower prices. Just make sure you check out the seller and the return policy before you buy.

The more of these you sift through the better your chances are of getting the best price on this unlocked phone.

windows phone 7 4g

Windows Phone 7 makes its debut. Although it's neither a mobile version of Windows nor the 7th version of anything, it's still pretty cool. Whether it has a chance against iPhone and Android phones, which have almost four hundred thousand apps -combined, Windows Phone 7 does have the standard features like Wi-Fi router connectivity and some very attractive features like integration with Microsoft Office and Xbox Live games. Here are a few of the cooler Win Phone 7 smartphones.

HTC 7 Surround Is a Mobile Home Theater
This smartphone has a big 3.8-inch display and fast Snapdragon processor. Slide the display down and you expose the stereo speakers that provide simulated SRS surround sound using Dolby Mobile technology.

HTC HD7 Looks Like the Very Popular Sprint EVO 4G
This Win Phone 7 smartphone has the big 4.3-inch display and kickstand just like the Sprint EVO 4G. It comes with a generous 16GB of internal storage and the TeleNav GPS Navigator and should be a fun phone to use for media watching or game playing. It's available from T-Mobile for $199 plus a 2-year contract.

Dell Venue Pro Has a Real Keyboard
The keyboard slides out from the bottom of the phone (similar to the Palm Pre), and this Win Phone 7 smartphone from Dell boasts a 4.1-inch AMOLED display and 1GHz Snapdragon processor. It will initially be available from T-Mobile for a price to be announced.

HTC 7 Pro Is a Big Slider
The HTC 7 Pro has a 3.6-inch and all the latest smartphone features along with a big, five-row slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

Samsung Omnia 7 May Has a Very Nice Display
While not having the very largest display of the bunch, the Omnia's high-resolution, 4-inch AMOLED display gets lots of glowing reports from anyone who has seen it. This sleek new Windows Phone 7 smartphone is getting high marks for an impressive feature set, good performance, and design.

phone updater

Mobile phone firmware means the OS (operating system) of the phone with certain applications pre-installed. The firmware is saved in the mobile's ROM (read only memory). The firmware can be of varying size for different phones for eg 50mb for Nokia N70 and 120 mb for Nokia 5230. Whenever a new phone is released it's hardware may be finalised but there may be a number of problems to the software which may not come out during the initial testing and only be realised once the phone enters the market.

Usually the problems may be due to the bundled apps, which can be solved in newer versions. There can be performance issues i.e, phone's hardware can't handle the load that OS takes to run on and applications these can also be handled by optimising the firmware for the OS. The phone can also show instability that is the phone restarts or gets switched off with no reason. This is due to the OS not being fully complete.

New features get added to the phone with updated firmware. Also updating your firmware is recommended for application compatibility and to reduce security risks.

Earlier updating firmware was something like for the geeky but now Nokia with a set of tools it provides makes it very simple. So there are three ways to update your Nokia 5230:

1. Giving the phone to customer care.
2. Updating using Tools provided by Nokia.
3. FOTA (firmware over the air) update.

The first one is the best option if your phone is under the 12 month warranty period. Giving it to the Nokia care centres is free during the warranty but it may cost you once the warranty is over.

Nokia provides Nokia software Updater and also Ovi suite which can be used update your phone. I recommend Ovi suite as there is bug with Nokia software updater and also Ovi suite supports app updates separately. Just go to tools, software update and let the Ovi suite check for updates. Once the update is found click install and follow the on screen instructions.

Note: backup all your data, make sure your battery is fully charged.

Nokia with it's newer phones introduced FOTA. Type *#0000#, select options, and then press check for updates. The phone connects to Nokia update server and if update is found it will prompt to download and install. The main advantage of FOTA is that no computer is needed and the updates will only be of small sizes 10mb.
